North and South by Elisaeth Gaskell currently. Although I don’t know about Erin or Alestier but if I know them (and I do) they’ve no doubt have something.

It depends upon what you like. I find they read very much like a traditional fantasy novel, lots of exposition, switching of character perspective, tendency towrds description and a more languid pace throughout (aside of course from the battle scenes) Be warned it does have a great deal sex and violence that is quite descriptive so if you’re uncomfortable with those things I’d steer clear. If you’re from the HBO show be warned the pace is very different and much of it is covered in the show itself so you may be simply reiterating what you know from the show and that can cause the reading process to be bit slower and less engaging.
